Description

This color linen postcard depicts four wolves in pens at Dr. McCleery's lobo wolf park, located along Route 6 five miles east of Kane, PA. The caption on the front of the card reads "Only Lobo Wolves in the World, on Roosevelt Highway between Mt. Jewett and Kane, Pa." The caption on the back of the card reads, "The Wolf Pack, started as a hobby by Dr. McCleary, Kane physician, grew until now it comprises one of the most remarkable animal exhibits in the country; visited by thousands each year."

The code 5A168-N is printed on the front of the card. The back of the card also reads"Genuine Curteich - Chicago "C. T. American Art" Postcard (Reg. U.S. Pat. Off.)" and "J.P. Walner, Box 224, Harrisburg, PA."

This postcard was published between 1929 (when Dr. McCleery moved the wolf park to the Route 6 location) and 1938 (the postmark date on a used version of this postcard I have seen).
