Description
This photograph depicts a wolf in the pens at Dr. McCleery's lobo wolf park, located along Route 6 five miles east of Kane, PA. Two men - Dr. McCleery and the keeper Earl Jones - can be seen near the gate of the pen. This photograph has a yellowed newspaper strip stuck to the back.
Another photograph in this series was featured in the Kane Republican's (Kane, PA) Special "Dr. McCleery - Wolves" Edition on February 20, 1962 and identified the keeper Earl C. Jones, who was wearing the same outfit in that photo as he is in this photo. Dr. McCleery is also wearing the same outfit in this photo as he was in other photos in this series.
This photograph was taken between 1929 (when Dr. McCleery moved the wolf park to the Route 6 location) and 1962 (when Dr. McCleery passed away).
