Description
This article reports that Dr. E. H. McCleery will now carry a pistol while working with his wolves due to the wolf Old Idaho's animosity towards him. Previously, Dr. McCleery fended off attacks by surprising the wolf with a shiny bucket, until carrying a pistol was suggested to him by the famous World War I veteran Sergeant Alvin York who recently visited the wolf park. Recently Sergeant Alvin York, the great World War hero, visited the wolf pack here. Dr. McCleery staged a special exhibition for the veteran, during which he was in "Old Idaho's" pen. "Old Idaho" did not act at all friendly that day and Sergeant York was a bit doubtful of the doctor's safety.
"That old fellow doesn't like you," Sergeant York exclaimed. "If I were you I would carry a pistol and shoot him instantly if he made a lunge like that at me."
And, so, the "Wolf Man" is taking the warrior's advice.
