Description

This photo is of staff at the Kane Area Joint High School with a taxidermy of one of Dr. E. H. McCleery's wolves. It is accompanied by a caption which reports that this taxidermy represents the mascot of the High School's football, basketball, and track teams, who call themselves the "Wolves." The photo was taken at a demonstration honoring Stu Edwards and his state champion basketball team.

In football, basketball and track the "Wolves" of Kane Area Joint High School have gained fame. The name was adopted long years ago with the snarling mounted lobo showing great fangs as much the part of the local athletic picture as the mule of Army - and Navy goat.
