This article describes how William Van Guilder of Grand Valley, PA, upon hearing a report of a huge wild dog in the woods, killed two adult wild dogs (a female and a male) and their ten puppies. The female dog saw him and leaped off a high rock ledge at him. As the wild dog was ready to spring at him again he killed it. The animals were similar to wolves and had claws nearly two inches in length.
